Speaker of the 9th house of representatives of Nigeria, Femi Gbajabiamila has appointed two house of representative members as the House Standing Committee on Disability.

This information was delivered via a statement made available to inclusive News Network on Thursday.

Princess Miriam Onuoha, representative of Okigwe North Federal Constituency, Imo State, an All Progressive Congress (APC) member was appointed Chairman of the House Committee.

Meanwhile, Rep. Longcap Komsol, representing Mikang Quaanpan and Shendam federal constituency of Plateau State another member of APC was picked as Deputy.

This welcome development is coming on the heels of several years of advocacy by Organizations of People with Disabilities for an Inclusive society and provision of 5% slot at every government appointment as contained in the Nigeria Disability Law assented to by President Buhari in 2018.
