Chairman, Board of Directors of the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD), Prince Paul Adelabu has been conferred with an honorary PhD award in christian social works. Adelabu has rendered 30 illustrious years of humanitarian service to the community of Persons with Disabilities.
The awardee, amongst others, was one of candidates shortlisted in the 4th Institute of Certified Mediators and Administration (ICMA), direct membership induction at their 2nd ICMA fellowship of reconciliation and mediation seminar on Saturday in Ibadan.
In a statement made available to Inclusive News Network, Dr. Adelabu said the award was given in recognition of his 30 years humanitarian services for special people in the society covering various areas from vocational and rehabilitation services, employment opportunities, to empowerment.
He added that he was the initiator and founder of Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD) in 1992.
“As Pioneer President, I laid the groundwork for establishing the body in 36 states of the federation, the FCT, as well as the 774 local government areas.”
“With this honorary award, I will now be addressed as Dr. Prince Paul Adelabu.”
Current President of JONAPWD, Ekaette Umoh congratulated Dr. Adelabu. Her statement reads: “congratulations to our BOT Chairman. On behalf of the over 30 million Persons with Disabilities, we say a big congratulations to you Dr. Adelabu, on your honorary PhD award in Christian Social Works. May the good Lord continue to uphold you in Jesus name, amen.”
