Mohammed Abba Isa, a wheelchair user and Senior Advocate for Disability Rights and Inclusive Development, has received an “Ability In Disability” meritorious award. The award was presented to him by Senator Rochas Okorocha on behalf of Our Nigeria News Magazine.
Abba Issa received the honor in recognition of his contribution to peace building and conflict management in the northeast specifically, and Nigeria, generally. The award also took into consideration Mr. Abba’s active roles in championing the rights of Persons with Disabilities.
In a statement released on Saturday, Abba Isa dedicated the award to all Persons living with Disabilities in Nigeria and beyond, particularly children and women in rural areas.
Other awardees of the Our Nigeria News Magazine Awards include, among others: the Chairman/Chief Executive, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, Sen. Rochas Okorocha, Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, Sen. Bassey Etuk and Major General Ibrahim Bala Haruna.
