Charles Ebonuma (Onyeze), the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Imo State Governor on Special Citizens has expressed his elation to His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma, the Executive Governor of Imo State for approving Grants and subventions to Imo Persons Living with Disabilities (PWD). These subventions in the past have been denied persons living with Disabilities by the past administrations. Hon Ebonuma revealed this to newsmen in his office on Tuesday.

Hon Ebonuma said that the subventions due to the Persons with Disabilities which they have sought for several years from past Imo administrations have finally been approved within 9 months of the Shared Prosperity Government. ”This development will improve the life and wellbeing of the Disabled Persons in Imo state. This is a demonstration of a leader’s sense of responsibility and commitment to duty”, he stated.

According to him, the Shared Prosperity Government of Senator Hope Uzodinma has immensely benefited the Special Citizens. He recalled that Gov Uzodinma is the only Imo Governor that appointed Special Adviser (SA) and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Special Citizens since the integration of Special Citizens into the politics of Imo State.

He also commended the inclusion of Bright Uzoma, the chairman of Joint National Association of Persons Living with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Imo State as a representative in the Imo State Community Policing Committee and other Disabled Persons in distinct positions.

He expressed great hope that the rights of Persons living with Disability will not be denied as long as the present government is concerned. He therefore charged persons with Disabilities to support and pray for the success of this present administration which has come to stay.
