Representatives of the Executive arm of the women’s wing of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) were in the Office of the Governor on Disability Matters(OGDM) to advocate for the inclusion and empowerment for women with disabilities in South East.
The representatives of the group, women leader, Lady Maria Alufo and the assistant women leader Lady Nwanokwara Ncheta, expressed profound appreciation to Governor Willie Obiano for his Disability Inclusive policies. They also thanked the Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters, Barr. Chuks Ezewuzie and his team for the outstanding services being rendered to the disability community in Anambra State.
The group while appealing for Inclusion in celebration of the annual Mother’s Summit and other programs aimed at empowering and enlightening women, requested for partnership with OGDM in some of their activities in the state.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters appreciated Women Leaders of the Disabled Community for their continued support for the Governor Willie Obiano’s administration and his wife Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) while advising the group to take advantage of the numerous programs and activities aimed at supporting persons with disabilities, especially Womem with disabilities. Such programs include the Agricultural Loan wherein 60% of the beneficiaries would be for women.
