Osun State Governor, Oyetola Gboyega and his predecessor in office and now Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola have distributed palliatives to 220 Deaf supporters group in the All Progressives Congress (APC) to cushion the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging deaf community in the State.
The food palliative which include 30 small bag of rice and 22 packs of golden penny instant Noodles from Oyetola and five bags of rice from Minister of Interior, Aregbesola were presented to the group of deaf people at the APC Secretariat, Ogo Oluwa Osogbo, the State capital.
In a chat with Inclusive News Network, INN, Chairman of the group, Azeez Abdulateef who spoke on behalf of the organization of Osun State APC’s Deaf Supporters Group thanked the Governor and the Minister for the gesture.
But Abdulateef said that the food palliative provided were not enough as the number of the supporters group were more than the food palliative provided.
He also suggested that aside providing rice and noodles, cash relief money and other materials should be included as a measure to cushion the effects of the pandemic.
Abdulateef also urged Aregbesola to always remember Deaf Associations in organising training, empowerment, among others.
