Hope Soars Foundation for Widows (HSFW) has empowered twenty widows, including those with disabilities. The empowerment involved skills acquisition training with seed capital of twenty-five thousand naira only (#25,000) was disbursed to boost start-up on the skills learnt.
The training and funds disbursement were part of the activities to mark HSFW’s 5th year anniversary. A considerable part of the fund came with support of one Miss Miracle Adedeji, GoFundMe donors, other volunteers.
HSFW Executive Director, Mrs. Johnson Folasade, in a statement released on social media, expressed hope that all beneficiaries invest the money right. She also prayed for the blessings of the Lord upon their endeavours.
Commenting on the N25k fund, Mrs Folasade says “although things are different now compared to when I kick-started my own business with N15,000 loan in 2006, this N25,000 seed capital grant offers better chances to the beneficiaries than I had back then in 2006.
“We hope that this single step marks the beginning of a great journey to doing great things and being positive changes to themselves and the world”, she said.
