THE Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Muhaamnad Badaru Abubakar has approved the establishment of a special fund to carter for the welfare of the people with disability in the state.
The commissioner, ministry of women affairs and social Development, Hajiya Yalwa Da’u Tijjani made the disclosure in her speech at the inauguration of the chairman and members of the governing board of rehabilitation board.
She said “The fund will jointly be established by ministry of women affairs, ministry of justice, office of the head of civil service and the Nigeria labour congress”.
According to her “When the law becomes enforceable civil servants in the State will contribute from their earnings”.
Earlier, in his speech, the Executive Secretary of the board Alhaji Ibrahim Rabakaya, represented by the Director Administration and Finance of the ministry, applauded governor Badaru Abubakar for appointing the members.
In their separate responses, Chairman of the Board Alhaji Sale Zakakar Kafin Hausa and chairman of the Jigawa state people with disability, Mallam Muhammad Usman thanked governor Badaru for giving them the opportunity to serve the state.
