COVID 19: Again, Yobe Governor, Buni Distributes Palliatives To Vulnerable Households, PWDs In Fune LGA

Yobe State Task Force on Covid-19 Sub-Committee on Paliative has distributed food items as palliatives to vulnerable households in Fune Local Government Area.

According to the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) at least 8,238 households are expected to benefit across the state.

INN learnt that the beneficiaries totalling over 400 households in Fune include, the elderly, women headed households (WHH), Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs), Youth headed households who are directly or indirectly affected by the pandemic lock down in neighbouring states and other associated challenges.

The palliative distribution was flagged off by the Chairman of the Sub-Committee, Dr. Abubakar Garba Iliya, who was ably represented by the Executive Secretary of SEMA at Fune Local Government Secretariat, in Damagum.

In his remarks, the Executive Secretary of SEMA, who was represented by SEMA’s field team leader, Aliyu Baba Toro informed the beneficiaries that the distribution is an ongoing support and within available resources, assuring them that it will periodically reach out to the most vulnerable.

Head of Administration of Fune LG , Ibrahim Abubakar Jado, on behalf of the local government chairman, thanked Gov. Buni for the support.

He equally said the Governor has touched the lives of thousands since the inception of his administration in 2019.

INN learnt that each household received rice, maize, beans, vegetable oil and other condiments.
