Hon. Israel Adesokan, a former aid of Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi is a recognized pillar of support for less privileged persons in his community. His latest philanthropic gesture has again put smiles on the face of a mother of five. The beneficiary is simply known as Mrs. Oluwafemi.
Reports have it that Mrs. Oluwafemi, and her five children (including a set of twins) had often had to go to bed without food due abject poverty.
Her situation was communicated to Hon. Adesokan (Aka Jaru) by some teachers of the Muslim College, Okeila Ado Ekiti which the twins attended.
It had come to the teachers notice that the twins often come to school without food and necessary learning materials. According to these teachers, about 30% of students in the school are living in abject poverty.
On hearing the sad plight of the single mother and children, Adesokan invited her to his office where she received support both in cash and kind. Items given her by Hon. Adesokan includes a sewing machine, sewing materials and some cash to get back to her shoe making business to functioning.

Jaru also promised continued support till her situation improves.
Mr Gbenga Obanise, chairman, Ekiti State Agency for Persons with Disabilities while speaking during presentation of the sewing machine to the woman, thanked Jaru for the consistent love he had shown for Persons with Disabilities. He urged other members of the society to emulate Jaru.
In her remarks, the beneficiary, Mrs. Oluwafemi who could not hide her joy, appreciated Jaru for coming to her aid at such critical time.
She says she has no husband to help with care of the children and most times they go all day without food.
Mrs. Oluwafemi promised to return to her business in order to generate funds to cater for herself and the children.
