NNAD Visits JAMB Office, Seeks Special Provisions For Candidates With Disability

Nigerian National Association of the Deaf, Headquarters, NNADHQ has paid an advocacy visit to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Friday.

The visit, INN learnt, was to address the challenges Deaf students and other students with disabilities pass through while sitting for the UTME examinations, amongst other things.

INN also learned that the group, led by Vice President of the Association, Haruna Tsafe, made some other requests, namely: exemption Deaf candidates from Oral English, cessation of foisting education courses on the deaf admission seekers, employment of Deaf staff members to the board, etc.

According to a statement released by NNADHQ, secretary general, Engineer Timothy Adejumo, the meeting was successful and the group was asked to put their request to the board in formal writing.

This was a step in the right direction. So deaf students were expected to do oral English ‼️ 🙆‍♀️
