Nigeria reports 453 new COVID-19 cases in 16 states as total figures swell to 47,743

Nigeria reported 453 new covid-19 cases in the new report released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in Wednesday, 12 August, 2020.

The new report indicates that Lagos still leads in the new cases with 113 which was lesser compared to yesterday’s report with 117. FCT follows wirh 72 infections and third by Plateau with 59 infections.

Other states following top three states with the highest cases in Nigeria are Enugu -55 Kaduna -38, Ondo- 32, Osun-26, Ebonyi-20, Ogun-9, Delta-8, Borno- 7, Akwa-Ibom -6, Oyo -5, Bauchi -1, Kano-1 and Ekiti -1.

The new report means that about 47,743 patients were confirm infected in Nigeria while 33,943 were discharged from isolation centres to rejoin their families and 956 reported deaths from the novel pandemic.
