Ekiti state government on Wednesday, appealed to Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) that have applied for employment into the state public service to exercise little patience.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Kayode Fayemi on Disability Matters, Mr Tunde Ogunrinde made the appeal in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado Ekiti.
He assured that Gov Kayode Fayemi is doing everything possible to ensure that their requests are been attended to, noting that the present administration has achieved a lot for PWDs than any other government in the history of the State.

He said that the Governor created the Office of Disability Affairs, signing of Discrimination Against Persons With Disabilities (Prohibition) into law and also appointed one of us (PWDs) as his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Disability Matters, among other achievements.
“By signing the bill into law, the Governor has also mandated all the recruiting agencies to comply to the law where it stipulates that 5% should be reserved for PWDs, but they didn’t.
“However, with all the Chairmen of these agencies at a meeting with us last week, discussions have reached an advanced stage to employ them as they will soon smile.
“PWDs should first of all contact me if they have any grievance, and should not allow anyone to incite them to protest against the government as it may portray them as ingrates,” Ogunrinde noted.
