The Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities, (JONAPWD) Zamfara State Chapter, have met with the Chairman, Universal Basic Education, (UBE) Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, demanding recruitment of its members into UBE.
Head of the visiting delegates, Alh. Usman Ahmed Sardauna Nahuche made the call while lodging a complaint to the UBE boss on Monday.
The delegates requested him to support the education of Deaf children who desire to study as they do not want their children to continue begging on the streets.
Responding, the UBE chairman promised to fix dilapidated sections of the Special school in Special Education Centre, Gusau. He also promised to employ new teachers, and build a new girls hostel for the special school.
