Deaf Supporters Development Initiative (DSDI), an NGO focused on improving living conditions of Deaf people has concluded arrangements to distribute its COVID-19 relief stimulus packages to Deaf members.
The relief stimulus packages will be distributed to Deaf members tomorrow, Thursday 7th January, 2021 at its Secretariat Office on 8th Floor, Bookshop House, 50/52, Broad Street, Lagos.
While explaining to this reporter the rationale behind the exercise, the NGO’s President, Mr. Afolabi Dahunsi said “it is an annual give away. This particular year is being made special because during the COVID-19 lockdown, many Deaf people suffered untold hardships.
“Though the Lagos State Government as well as philanthropists tried their best in giving COVID-19 stimulus packages, many Deaf do not get their share. Demand simply exceed supply, therefore, we have made efforts to see that some Deaf people receive gifts and packages this time around. We want to keep them happy.
“Our focus is to see that Deaf members celebrate the new season with joy and happiness. Those who don’t have enough are supported in the spirit of the season to celebrate with their families. We hope to sustain this annual exercise, he concluded.”
