Groups Give Succour To Over 500 Persons With Disabilities

The Love Care for the Needy Foundation in partnership with Sharing Life Issues with Ifeomamebe on ABS has distributed Christmas gifts to the indigents and persons with Disabilities.

The annual event attracted the indigent persons , physically challenged persons , visual and speech impaired who were over five hundred in number.

The beneficiaries who assembled at the podium of Saint Mathew’s Parish Amawbia from across the state received different categories of gifts including wheelchairs, clutches, bags of rice and clothes.

Those with eye problem also received free eye care, drugs and glasses courtesy of Dr Agatha Muoka.

Addressing the gathering, the Host of Sharing Life Issues with Ifeomamebe on ABS, Mr Okechukwu Ojiakor encouraged them to keep faith in God and live a good life as no condition is permanent.

He appreciated those that contributed to the success of the event and in a special way, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, Dr Uche Nworah, for his visionary leadership which gave wider audience to the ABS radio programme, Sharing Life Issues with Ifeomamebe.

Dr Agatha Muoka during the event lectured the audience on the best practices towards preventing eye challenges while the President of the Rotary Club of Awka Nnamdi Azikiwe University Mr. Abuchi Nwozor who also attended the event encouraged them to live in accordance with the teachings of Christ urging them not to see their condition as the end of the world.

Some of the beneficiaries including Reverend Sister Maria-Ngozichukwu Onyibor, Mrs Ngozi Agagwu and Mr Simon Ozoemena appreciated the host attesting that lives have been touched positively through the program.

Dr Ekwunife Obidiegwu who adopted six physically challenged and visual impaired persons for scholarship up to secondary school level and Chief Aaron Umeh Nwafor assured of greater commitment to the programme expressing the hope that next edition will be better.

The Event also featured prayer session as well as special numbers by the beneficiaries.
