The ominous reality of a second wave of the Covid-19 Pandemic hit with sheer impact as yesterday, the country recorded its highest number of confirmed new cases in a single day – an alarming 1,145!
For happy-go-lucky Nigerians, this sudden surge serves stern warning against the increasing laxity in adherence to preventive measures to contain the dreaded disease.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 1,145 new COVID-19 cases in the report released on Thursday.
Lagos led with 459 cases, followed by FCT with 145 and Kaduna with 138.
Others reported were Plateau-80, Katsina-70, Gombe-52, Niger-31, Kano-23, Bayelsa-21, Bauchi-18, Ondo-18, Rivers-17, Ogun-12, Oyo-12, Edo-8, Nasarawa-8, Ebonyi-7, Osun-6, Ekiti-5, Kebbi-5, Borno-4, Jigawa-3, Akwa Ibom-2, Anambra-1.
This shot total confirmed cases in Nigeria to 76,207, total discharged patients now 67,110 and 1,201 persons have been reported dead.

The PTF added that it will begin to review the further reopening of the nation’s economy.
