World Disability Day: Centre calls for unity

by Inclusive News Network

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), the Centre for Disability Issues, has said it will celebrate this year’s World Disability Day with the theme: “Building Back Better Towards a Disability- Inclusive Accessible and Sustainable Post-COVID-19”.

The Coordinator, Comrade Kehinde Oshilaja, in a statement described the event as significant, especially because of the occurrences, especially the COVID-19 pandemic that ravaged “the country this year, which to God’s glory, we were able to surmount.”

Oshilaja said the programme would begin on Friday with a prayer at the Mainland Central Mosque, Lagos, to be attended by the NGO’s patrons, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, Alhaji Lanrewaju Sodiq, Mr. Moshood Daniel Folorunso, Alhaji Ibrahim Oshinaya, Mrs. Kehinde Fagbenro, among others, adding that the next day, there would be a service at Ijo Orunmila, Oyingbo, Lagos with another patron of the group, the Ojora of Ijoraland, Oba Fatai Aremu Aromire, in attendance.

He said the event would end on Sunday at Bethlehem African Church, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
