The number of daily COVID-19 cases found in Nigeria was 155 on Wednesday bringing the total number of infections in the country to 59,738.

For the past four days, no new deaths were recorded from the virus which indicates that the total death toll remains 1,113.

The latest report from Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed that 8 states were infected in the new figures: Lagos (84) Rivers (31) Kaduna (12) Osun (10) FCT (7) Oyo (6) Ogun (3) Kwara (2).

Meanwhile, there has been a sharp increase in the number of patients who recovered.

About 51,403 out of nearly 60,000 cases reported have recovered with 7,000 infections still active across the country.

Testing has also improved a bit with almost 540,000 of Nigeria’s 200 million already tested.

This has boosted the country’s reopening plans with schools and other social activities set for full resumption.
