She stated, “PWDs should expect positive response and actions from my cluster and inclusive initiatives and programmes from AU.”

The representative, Lois Auta-Udonkanta said this in an interview with Inclusive News Network after inauguration into the National Standing Committee of AU-ECOSOCC, Nigeria.

The excited Lois who is also the founder of Cedar Seeds Foundation and CEO of Network of Disabled Women added that she was excited, happy and looks forward to seeing the best as a result of this appointment.

The sectoral cluster committee is expected to formulate opinions and programmes of the AU by forging strong partnerships with governments at all levels and the civil society organisations towards the implementation of AU policies and frameworks in all AU Member States.

It is also the responsibility of the committee to popularize the domestication and implementation of all AU Vision.

Lois admonished persons with Disabilities to be resilient, responsible and reshape their thinking towards possessing more abilities than disabilities.

“PWDs should be resilient, responsible and reshape their thinking to having more abilities in them than disabilities. Also, they should keep learning and educate themselves in using technology and digital skills to be able to cope with the global trend and economic development. Furthermore, PWDs should endeavour to share information and opportunities within the disability community and support each other.”
