YAN Appoints 17 People With Disabilities As Special Advisers In Yobe State

Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Yobe state chapter has appointed 17 people with Disabilities as Special Advisers on Disability matters to the 17 local government areas of the state.

In an exclusive interview with Inclusive News Network, INN speaking on the appointment on Tuesday, the speaker, Hon. Alhaji Umar Ibrahim Kalli confirmed the appointment saying “I directed in our last meeting/sitting all Local government Speaker’s to appoint S As on PWDs in all the 17 local government Areas of the state”

On why he appointed the 17 Advisors on Disability matters in the state, he said “It’s part of our inclusion programme to integrate all youth constituencies including people with disabilities.”

He added “People differently abled constitute a significant portion of youth population, hence their contribution towards the attainment of our goals cannot be overemphasized.”

On what plans he has for people with Disabilities in Yobe state, Kalli emphasized that he has many developmental plans for people with Disabilities in the state but cannot mention them for now.

When asked what are his expectations from the 17 PWDs appointed as advisors, he said “It’s my hope that they will justify the confidence reposed to them”
