Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Umar Farouq on Monday played host to the Chairman and Executive Secretary of Disability Commission in her office.
This was confirmed through her verified social media account.
The minister charged them to live up to their responsibilities and serve as torchbearers for People Living with Disabilities in Nigeria.
The information read, “HM Sadiya Umar Farouq yesterday received the Chairman and Secretary of the recently approved executive members of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities #PLWDs”
“HM Sadiya Umar Farouq charged them to live up to their responsibilities and serve as torchbearers for #PLWDs in Nigeria”.
The 8-man Disability Commission was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari last week, which ended a 20-year struggle by advocates of PWDs to see it come to reality.
