Former All Progressives Congress (APC), National Disabled Leader, Misbahu Lawan Didi has listed all the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari which includes signing the Disability Discrimination Act into law, Appointments of the Disability Commission Members, SSA and SA on Disabled Matters, among others.
He also thanked Buhari and those that supported the creation of the Nigeria’s Commission for persons with Disabilities.
Misbahu in a statement released on Tuesday, thanked Buhari, APC and those that supported the creation of the Commission for People with Disability Rights.
He said “with gratitude to Almighty Allah, the President, Muhammadu Buhari, APC led Government and all those that supported the creation/ establishment of the Nigeria’s Commission for people with Disabilities Rights”
“I’m pleased to thank you all for this historical and timely decision of total mainstreaming/inclusitivity of persons with disabilities in governance.
“I am thanking Mr. President for the appointment of the Commission’s Governing Council Members”
Inclusive News Network, INN had earlier reported that Buhari appointed 8 members of governing council who will pilot the affairs of the National Commission for People with Disabilities.
The Executive Council nominees include Hon. Dr Hussaini Suleiman Kangiwa (Chairman – North West), Oparaku Onyejelam Jaja (Member – South East), Philomena Isioma Konwea (Member – South South),Omopariola Busuyi Oluwasola (Member – South West) Amina Rahma Audu (Member – North West), Mrs Esther Andrew Awu (Member – North Central), Abba Audu Ibrahim (Member – North East), James David Lalu (Executive Secretary – North Central).
Misbahu added “The above listed names, congratulations to all of you and indeed disability family/community in Nigeria, May Allah guide you to do the right things in this important assignment and may he the Almighty assist you not let us down.”
Listing Buhari’s Achievements since his swearing into office in 2015, Misbahu said “Thank you Mr. President for making history again, in your administration you have achieved the total inclusion of disabled in governance by appointing
1) SSA and SA on disabled Matters.
2) SA on special needs office of the Humanitarian Minister.
3) Signing into Law the Disability discrimination Act.
4) Appointments of the Disability Commission’s Members
5) Establishing Commission for the Disabled.
6) Encourage the appoiment of SA office of the Hon. Speaker House of Reps. and
7) Encourage my Election as the first APC National Disabled Leader and over 120, 000 positions for disabled in APC Leadership at all levels.
“Again Mr. President Congratulations for the Certification of Nigeria as a Polio Free Country you are indeed a great Achiever,” he said.
