Breaking: Nigeria reports over 600 COVID-19 cases as total near 52,000 mark

Nigeria reported 601 new COVID-19 cases in the report released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) via twitter handle on Saturday, 22 August, 2020.

Lagos led surprisingly with 404 new cases followed by Abuja with 37 and Oyo with 19 cases.

Other states are as follows Ondo-14 Abia-13 Enugu-13 Kaduna-13 Edo-12 Kano-12 Kwara-11 Ebonyi-10 Nasarawa-7 Ogun-6 Osun-5 Delta-5 Niger-5 Plateau-4 Bayelsa-4 Katsina-3 Ekiti-2 Imo-2.

About 21 states were listed in the new infections.

Total confirmed cases now stands at 51,905 with 38,767 discharged and 997 deaths.
