Nigeria Records 417 New COVID-19 Cases as Total Confirmed Cases Approach 50,000

Nigeria recorded 417 new COVID-19 cases in the new report released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday, 18 August, 2020.

Lagos led with 207 new cases, followed by Kaduna with 44 cases and Ondo with 38 new cases.

Other States reported with confirmed new cases of the COVID-19 infection are Abia-28 Anambra-21 Plateau-20 Bauchi-13 Oyo-9 Ebonyi-9 Delta-7 Edo-7 Enugu-6 Niger-3 Gombe-2 Ogun-1 FCT-1 Kano-1.

The figures released by the NCDC revealed that 17 states were listed in the new report.

The total confirmed cases in Nigeria is now close to 50,000 mark with 49,485 total cases confirmed according to the new report. About 36,834 patients have been discharged from isolation centres across Nigeria while total number of deaths reported at 977 cases.
