Yobe State Government has reached out to the most vulnerable households in Nangere Local Government Area (LGA) with the distribution of palliatives.
The distribution was carried out by the Task Force on Covid-19 Sub-Committee on Palliatives.
The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) confirmed that over 360 households in the local government benefitted.
The agency listed beneficiaries to include the elderly, women headed households (WHH), Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs), Youth Headed household who are directly or indirectly affected by the pandemic lockdown in neighboring states and other associated challenges.
Chairman of the Sub-Committee, Dr. Abubakar Garba Iliya flagged off the distribution of the palliatives.
Iliya, who spoke through the Executive Secretary of SEMA and Yobe State Coordinator of Sustainable Development Goals in Sabon Garin Nangere told the beneficiaries that the gesture was an ongoing support within the available resources of government but will be periodical to reach out to the most vulnerable in the society.
Inclusive News Network (INN) learnt that each household received rice, maize, beans, vegetable oil and other condiments.
