Nasarawa State Association of the Deaf (NASAD) has presented an award of honour to Mrs. Aisha Rufa’i Ibrahim, the State’s Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development. The honour was in recognition of her meritorious service to the State and the Deaf Community.
Presenting the award to the Commissioner at her office on Friday, NASAD Chairman, Yahaya Haila said the association is proud of her leadership qualities and contribution to development of the State and the Deaf Community.
According to Yahaya, the Association appreciates the commissioner for contributing to development of the Deaf community.
He specifically thanked the commissioner for playing a major role in ensuring their various requests towards a successful organizing and hosting of the Annual General Meeting, Youth summit, and Woman Summit of the Nigeria National Association of the Deaf (NNAD) in Lafia the State Capital last year were approved by the State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule.
Mrs Ibrahim thanked the association for identifying with her. She urged them to remain good ambassadors of Nasarawa State while promising to work towards assisting the Deaf community.
She also appreciated the Nigeria National Association of the Deaf for hosting its apex program in Nasarawa State.
