40 Blind Persons Graduate from Free Computer Training Programme Organised by Anwab in Yaba, Lagos

40 Blind persons today at the Remi Tinubu Hall of Yaba Local Government secretariat received their certificates following their successful completion of a free computer appreciation course organised by Anglo-Nigeria Welfare Association for the Blind, ANWAB and sponsored by Total E&P.

The project was the implementation of an agreement between ANWAB and Total Exploration and Producing Nigeria Multipurpose Co-operative, under which ANWAB provided computer training for 40 blind persons throughout 2017 in four shifts at the Computer Training Dept of ANWAB Centre for the Blind, Yaba, Lagos. Each session of three months had 10 students and as the last batch concluded their course last week, they all received their certificates today at an elaborate ceremony as part of as part of Total E&P Nig. Corporate Social Responsibility objective.

The sponsorship by Total E&P covered tuition for the 40 participants as well as salary for the computer instructor and cost for upgrading of software in ANWAB Centre computer training room
